I absolutely love a tipi wedding – they had me hooked since the first time I photographed one back in 2012 – there’s something magical about the fire pits, festoon lighting and festival vibe that goes hand in hand with these striking structures. However, planning an outdoor tipi wedding can be a daunting task as there’s so much more to organise – you’ve got to think about power, toilets, tables and chairs, flooring – the list is endless! Unless you’re lucky enough to have a garden the size of a football pitch, the first problem you’ll likely come up against is finding a site to host your tipi wedding. But fear not, here’s where I come in with my handy list!
Being a Warwickshire wedding photographer who absolutely loves photographing tipi weddings, I’ve discovered some absolute gems over the last 10 years. All of the following venues have experience of tipi weddings so they will be able to offer help and advice along the way as well as being able to recommend local suppliers for all the important things. So without further ado, and in no particular order, I give you…
10 amazing tipi wedding venues in Warwickshire
Talton Lodge
Tucked away in south Warwickshire is Talton Lodge and House – a country manor house and festival site. The Manor House in tandem with the festival atmosphere of the walled Kitchen Garden make a truly unique and alternative venue that is brimming with quirky places.
Talton set out to be a magical, welcoming and fun venue and absolutely LOVE hosting weddings. The victorian walls, orchard and poplars make a beautiful backdrop for DIY weddings. Blessings and humanist ceremonies can take place on the lawn in front of Talton House and although not licensed for civil ceremonies, there are many nearby register offices. The walled Kitchen Garden comes complete with two giant linked tipis, table tennis table and pavilion cocktail bar.
From canapés on the lawn to wedding breakfast in the giant hat tipis to late night paella under the pergola watching the bonfire, Talton are passionate about rearing their own food, and growing or sourcing local ingredients.
Accommodation is available in the forms of luxury ensuite bedrooms with roll top baths, quirky fun orchard wagons as well as in the tree boathouse, barn tipis and yurts. The whole site is provided for 3 days giving couples plenty of time to add their own touches as well as enjoy the onsite facilities which includes hot tub, tennis court and games room.

From the highly regarded and successful team at Swallows Nest Barn (who I mentioned in my post about Warwickshire Barn Venues), comes a new and exclusive site to host a festival wedding. Set in 350 acres of private Warwickshire farmland just a short drive from Warwick, Stratford and Leamington is Swallows Nest Festival Weddings. A short walk from the festival wedding site you will find stunning woodland or wild flower meadows in which to host an outdoor ceremony. Middleton Hall, Tamworth
A Grade II Georgian manor set amidst acres of countryside in north Warwickshire that is able to accommodate tipis on the West Lawn. Unlike many venues suitable for a tipi wedding, Middleton Hall is licensed for Warwickshire civil ceremonies with couples able to choose between the grandeur of the Great Hall or the bright and airy Lily Suite.
Oldberrow House, Henley-in-Arden
An impressive, privately-owned Victorian country house in the middle of the Warwickshire countryside just outside the village of Henley-in-Arden. Oldberrow House has recently undergone a complete restoration with the vision to creating a wedding venue to cater for large garden weddings. The old croquet lawn is perfect for a tipi with Oldberow House and it’s ample gardens providing a stunning backdrop.
Sherborne Park, Warwick
A family home in open countryside between Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon, Sherborne Park and it’s extensive grounds lend themselves to a tipi wedding. Offering exclusive use of the house and grounds, tipis can be put up in the front park, walled garden or on the South Lawn. With the Grade II listed house on one side, the Victorian church on the other, an avenue of lime trees and 18th century parkland on the others, it’s an amazing location. The house offers accommodation and is also licensed for Warwickshire civil ceremonies. If you prefer a church ceremony, All Saints Church is within the grounds of the park.
I’ve been a little bit cheeky with these last two as technically they’re not tipi wedding venues in Warwickshire. However, they’re really only a short drive over the border so I thought it would be a shame not to include them

This countryside venue just outside Warwickshire is a perfect location for a DIY tipi wedding. A family run farm, they pride themselves on their high standards.
