Civil Partnership wedding Photography by Jennifer Peel
Something amazing happened this year – same sex marriages became legal in England and Wales. As of 29 March, same sex couples can legally marry and those who are already civil partners can convert the partnership to a marriage. Love is love, regardless of gender. This was my first time photographing a same sex marriage as well as my first wedding at Leeds Castle and wow what a venue! It was the setting that Nico & Guillaume had chosen for their gay wedding and it was a real honour to have been able to be a part of it. They got ready together before the ceremony and both were walked down the aisle by their mothers. With guests from many different countries, the ceremony was translated for all to understand. After the marriage guests enjoyed canapés on the lawn with acoustic entertainment and we were able to take some time to wander the grounds and get some portraits of the couple.
