PERSONAL BRANDING PHOTOGRAPHY FOR LOUY MAGROOS, SOLIHULL
Laura recently approached me about creating some brand imagery for her handmade jewellery business that she runs from her home in Solihull. She was struggling to take images for her social media as she found that it often got in the way of her making, or the light was never quite right or that her husband just never quite got the right angles (let’s face it, we all struggle with that last one, right?!)
Laura uses Instagram almost daily in her business so it was really important to her that we created a bank of images that she could pull from without needing to scrabble around every day trying to take a photo to post to her grid.
We set up a call so that I could find out more about her business and for us to collate ideas for the session. It became very apparent to me very quickly that being a mum and running Louy Magroos around her family was a really big part of her business so I felt it was really important that we involved her daughter Evie in the session. Laura was a little concerned that she might not co-operate but she was good as gold and I think we can all agree that she stole the show! Not only are these images perfect for her audience to get to know her better but they will also be treasured by Laura for years to come and I’m so thrilled I was able to capture them for her.
All Laura’s pieces are handmade by her in her workshop at home so another important aspect of the session was to capture as much of the making process as possible.
I really loved doing this personal branding photography session with Laura in Solihull – I’m a massive supporter of independent businesses, particularly designer makers, so I was in my absolute element. I can’t wait to see how Laura’s business grows and I hope I get to meet Evie (and Laura) again!
